A Journey Through Our Company History

Many events have shaped our company over the past decades. The UMETA chronicle shows important milestones from the foundation of the company to the relocation to Bielefeld, the expansion of export business and the development of modern manufacturing areas up to the present day.

UMETA Chronicle

1926

The company is founded by Hermann Ulrichskötter in Gütersloh/Blankenhagen.

1953

Relocation to the current site in Bielefeld/Ummeln.

1965

Margarete Maser-Ulrichskötter, daughter of Hermann Ulrichskötter, takes over management of the company.

1970

The export business is successfully expanded during the 1970s.

1992

First trade fair appearance at the Eisenwarenmesse in Cologne.

1993

Frank Maser joins the management team as the third generation. In addition, a branch office is founded in the USA.

1994

Certification according to DIN EN ISO 9001 as the first company in the industry.

2004–2007

Awarded “Bielefelder Ökoprofit Company 2004,” expansion of the machine park, TÜV certification for customer satisfaction and service quality, and the start of cooperation with Good Hope Centre e.V.

2013–2016

TÜV certification of the environmental management system according to ISO 14001, trade fair appearance at Agritechnica in Hanover, and celebration of the company’s 90th anniversary.

2021–2024

Market launch of the SnapStar grip coupler, new production automats and washing robots, relaunch of the website, trade fair successes and continuation under the WIGGEN Group since 01.07.2024.
